Building Connections and Strengthening Women in Law: Running In Heels 2026

At Broussard, David & Moroux, we believe strong communities are built by professionals who are willing to lead, invest in others, and create opportunities for growth. This year, Reed Ellis played a major role in doing exactly that through the Lafayette Bar Association’s annual Running In Heels seminar.

As Co-Chair overseeing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programming for the Lafayette Bar Association, Reed helped bring this year’s event to life piece by piece, helping shape it into a meaningful and impactful experience for attorneys across the region.

The full-day seminar featured three panels, six CLE credit hours, and eleven accomplished female speakers who shared their insight, experiences, and perspectives on navigating the legal profession. More than just an educational event, Running In Heels was designed to foster genuine connection among women in law and encourage the kind of professional relationships that continue long after the seminar ends.

Reed emphasized that one of her primary goals for this year’s event was creating an environment where women could build authentic connections — relationships that evolve into trusted professional networks, litigation support groups, mentorship opportunities, and lasting friendships within the legal community.

Having been sworn into her leadership role with the Lafayette Bar Association in November, this marked one of the first major events under her direction. Her vision and dedication were evident throughout the day and contributed greatly to the program’s success.

Reed also expressed her appreciation to the Lafayette Bar Association, its staff, and every speaker who helped make this year’s Running In Heels such a success.
