Broussard, David & Moroux Presents MADD Louisiana’s MOVE with MADD Walk in Baton Rouge
Broussard, David & Moroux (BDM) served as presenting sponsor of the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Louisiana MOVE with MADD Walk in Baton Rouge on Saturday, Oct. 10. The firm joined survivors, families and advocates to honor people killed or injured in impaired driving crashes.
BDM Chief Operating Officer Tim Rinaldi spoke at the walk on behalf of the firm.
“There is nothing quite like seeing MADD’s impact up close. Walking alongside survivors and their families in Baton Rouge, on a beautiful day with my own family by my side, made me incredibly proud of what our firm stands for and the community we are honored to serve,” said Rinaldi.
MADD Louisiana publicly thanked BDM after the walk, saying the firm’s support means a great deal to the state and to victims of impaired driving. The sponsorship builds on a partnership that began this spring, when BDM became the first law firm in Louisiana to join the MADD Lawyers Resource Network. The nationwide network connects people affected by impaired driving with vetted attorneys. It is not a referral-for-fee service; member firms must pass MADD’s vetting process and show alignment with its mission of ending impaired driving.
BDM client Olivia Hayes of Kinder also spoke at the walk, sharing her family’s story with the crowd. Her husband, Wesley Ryan Hayes, was killed by a drunk driver on Oct. 1, 2024. Hayes has since told Wesley’s story on national news and attended the President’s Joint Address to Congress in March 2025. After losing Wesley, Olivia founded Eighty Eight Outfitters, a faith-inspired outdoor apparel brand that carries on his legacy. The name comes from his high school football number, and the brand’s logo is one Wesley designed himself years before his death.
“Wesley was taken from us by someone who chose to drive drunk. Walking with MADD and other families who know this loss reminds me that his story can still help someone else. That’s why I started Eighty Eight Outfitters, and it’s why I’ll keep telling it,” said Hayes.
Families affected by an impaired driving crash can find free guidance in BDM’s article, “What Louisiana Families Need to Know After a Drunk Driving Crash.” MADD also offers free, confidential support through its 24-Hour Victim Help Line at 1-877-MADD-HELP.
