Stop Sign Collision Results in Severe Injuries and a $5.6 Million Settlement
In October 2021, our clients were hit by a box truck at the intersection of Austria Road and LA HWY 95 in Duson, Louisiana. Our client was driving with a passenger in a Ford F-350 while towing a trailer loaded with work supplies. A box truck driven by an employee of a wholesale and services company failed to stop and collided with our client. The impact of the collision caused significant property damage to both vehicles, including the rear axle being broken off our client’s vehicle’s frame.
Our clients are the driver and passenger of the Ford F-350. The driver, Client A, suffered serious and permanent injuries including:
- Severe neck pain
- Lower back pain
- Radiculopathy (pinched nerve)
- Nerve impingement at L4-5 and L5-S1
The injuries resulted in extensive medical care including lumbar laminectomy and microdiscectomy, spinal injections, physical therapy and recommended future treatment of surgeries and pain management.
